Life Changes - Real Real Talk

So the big news? (A month later haha) I no longer work full time at the law firm I spent my last five years at!! While it was never my intention to fully leave the job, an amazing opportunity presented itself, I had to jump on it, and then was unable to continue with both positions. So as of the middle of August - I became a "full time creative"! Lara Casey's words never rang truer. Those things I've been wanting to do since starting this little business two years ago...I'm finally working on them!

I use quotations around "full time creative" because I am actually not 100% pursuing my own business yet! Instead, over the last month, I have met with and started helping 4 (YES, FOUR!) different businesses! My wonderful hubs has been super supportive of me while he too works his butt off for his job. This year (30, which starts very soon) is just going to be a year of intense and constant hustle and I'm loving it!

SO these businesses? I know I am a good 2nd woman, right-hand gal, helper, etc. Likely because I'm an ESFJ. I can pull rabbits out of hats and tend to think 10 steps ahead (even though that also trips me up sometimes - ha!) The first and main position, that I couldn't pass up, was the opportunity to work with an amazing floral and event designer as her Office Manager and Assistant. I've been able to work on two styled shoots and have seriously learned SO MUCH in my almost two months with her. She is seriously the life coach I didn't realize I needed and I know my time with her will have a lasting postive impact on who I am.

In the middle of everything, Harvey came to visit us. I spent my time crafting necklaces like a mad-woman! At the end I had over 120 necklaces that I put on sale with some of the proceeds to go to JJ Watt's relief fund! I still have a bunch left over and plan to get them up here soon (finally!) for sale. Plus I am signed up for 2 markets in OCtober - one in Katy, one in Dallas, one market in November here in Houston, and possibly one more in December in Katy depending on if we take a trip or not! So your opportunities to get your hands on a necklace is here! You can contact me through instagram to see my stock or keep your eyes peeled for market details or the shop here!

The other three businesses I'm currently helping? I'll share those with you over time but I can say that by doing this I may end up with not only new friends but also a ton of hands on (literally, haha) experience and discussion about small business needs! So if you are having issues in your business or want to talk out some ideas - let me know! I'd happily get coffee or wine with you and help you figure out ways to move forward or take your business up a notch. I'll help you personally if I can or direct you to someone that I think could help you!

And above? Such an amazing day and meeting of creative minds. I'm so lucky to get to be a co-leader for our Houston Central Tuesday's Together group and yesterday's meeting was just wonderful. I think that's mainly why I woke up an hour before my alarm and was ready to get at it. I'll be writing my own love note to our group soon. (I promise that 'soon' means within a month?!)
